Two years ago, Buck Ryan and I ran a simple thought experiment: How could we improve intercompany collaboration?
We saw the answer embedded in how the tech world was evolving around us. The maturity of the API economy was fueling explosive growth within partner ecosystems. Cloud data pipelines and warehousing were making data sets more portable and standardized. Digital transformation efforts were bringing even the largest enterprises — and their data — into these cloud platforms.
All at once, there was a window of opportunity to create something entirely new: A data layer made up of the intersections between companies and their partner ecosystems, catalyzed by a platform for turning that data into business value.
The result was Crossbeam.
We launched in January 2019, and in just over 18 months our network has grown exponentially to more than 900 companies and counting. These businesses, ranging from small agencies to some of tech’s largest brands, use Crossbeam to power intercompany collaboration by:
- Account mapping exercises to connect and align sales reps and sales motions across partner companies
- Channel pipeline mapping to eliminate conflict with resellers and system integrators
- Identifying joint customers to find the highest-value integrations and recruit the most valuable technology partners
- Reducing risk by streamlining partner workflows, eliminating insecure communication channels, and ending practices that require oversharing
- Introducing automation that allows these new motions to exist at scale, both in Crossbeam and in third-party platforms powered by our data
- Attribution and measurement of partner-influenced revenue
- Visualizing and exploring partner ecosystems with Partnerbase, our public data set of partner ecosystems

A New Partnership: Redpoint Leads Crossbeam’s $25M Series B
Today, we are thrilled to announce a new partnership of our own: Redpoint Ventures has led a $25 Million Series B investment into Crossbeam, and Redpoint Partner Logan Bartlett will be joining our Board of Directors.
We’re humbled to have existing investors FirstMark Capital, Salesforce Ventures, Slack Fund, and Uncork Capital returning to participate in the round, along with participation from new investors including Okta Ventures and a syndicate of partnership executives from Partnership Leaders, a leading industry association for partnerships and business development professionals.
This carefully curated group of financial, strategic, and community investors was selected to embody our core value of “Grow the Network.” These new funds and relationships will allow Crossbeam to take a long-term mindset that puts our network of users — and the value we create for them — above all else.
